>Earlier this year, $300K was committed to a distributed database intelligent query effort by a group at SPAWAR Charleston. With the emergence of the DDR&E/DSTAG database effort, I've suggested that we redirect this SPAWAR group to support development of the intelligent query concept for the distributed Defense S&T databases. This seminal effort would be the first steps in a larger effort to assemble an adaptive, real time knowledge base for cross-cutting inter-Service/Agency efforts. In the longer run, this capability might prove useful evolve into an element of the LARGE DATA ACTD capability.
