These "Improvement Management" technologies would operate within a larger Open Systems environment created by merging the Strategic Management model with the OSI reference model, as shown above. This illustrates moving the management from the highly conceptual mission, vision, goal, etc., to the highly tangible, network circuit, device, etc. The GEM/DEMIS would manage any layer of this model to provide information to the enterprise and services to our customers. The GEM/DEMIS will incorporate this perspective, encompassing cultural, business, process, and technical elements.
