A logical implementation of the DEM catalog function would look something like this. It would require a database management system that could perform relational self-joins, or that could display and manage objects in a hierarchy or tree structure.

With this catalog, users could query the object classes as deeply as they were disaggregated/categorized, shown by the Decimal Classification code (e.g., 01.5.8.1 = Bayern) of the object.
