Hi Folks:

In the same way that XML/EDI is seeking to use XML as an interchange mechanism for electronic data interchange, the CASE Data Interchange Format (CDIF) group (http://www.cdif.org/) is building standards on CASE model interchange. The references to UML and XML fit within the CDIF domain. A broader discussion of XML applied to CDIF is at http://www.cdif.org/overview/XmlSyntax.html.

Current EIA standards that apply to UML are shown below.

I'm quite amazed at the common ground and intersections of the current XML, UML, CDIF, OSD (Open Software Description), EDI, EC, LDAP, and PKI efforts.
